Davide Guzzardi

Ski & Sail Svalbard

Friday, November 1st, 14:30

Wax your skis, sharpen your blades! The Arctic is one of the most hostile and least visited environments on Earth. Davide tells us about his journey to the 78th parallel north, in the remote bays of the Svalbard Islands, also known as the land of the polar bear. In a small group, in search of fresh powder and breathtaking descents, they explored the Arctic with a sailboat perfectly equipped as a base camp. Each day, new peaks and adventures awaited them: from vertiginous descents to navigating among icebergs, exercising caution towards bears and discovering caves in the glacier around Longyearbyen. A ‘refreshing’ reportage that awakens the desire for discovery and exploration, with images and short videos, testifying to how the Arctic remains one of nature’s wonders, to be protected but also explored.

Biography: Davide Guzzardi is the founder and director of Exped Tribe GmbH. As a determined alpinist, always in search of new challenges, Davide is particularly passionate about mountain sports, unspoiled landscapes, and foreign cultures. In recent years, his travels have taken him from the Arctic to the far east of Kamchatka territories, to the Bolivian Andes. An inexhaustible hunger for exploration, which Davide expresses best by visiting remote places at every altitude and latitude, often with his own tent, climbing equipment, and on foot. Among thousands of intense and engaging experiences, unique and wild landscapes visited, Davide brings home non-material souvenirs in the form of memories and images that are forever indelibly preserved in his mind, ready to be presented to you in an attempt to awaken your desire for exploration.
